This Privacy Policy describes how bee2bee (“bee2bee”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information when you install and use our Shopify applications (each, the “App”). By installing or using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Upon installation, the App obtains the following information from your Shopify account:
- Your store URL
- The name of the store owner
- The email address of the store owner
The App also accesses order data from your store in order to provide its functionality. We do not store personal information about your customers, such as their names, contact details, or addresses, and the App does not track your customers’ activity on your storefront.
In addition, we automatically collect technical and usage information about your use of the App, such as device and browser details and interaction data, using cookies, server log files, and web beacons.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and provide the App and its features
- Communicate with you regarding your account, support requests, and service updates
- Analyze, secure, and improve the App
- Send you information and promotional communications about our products and services, subject to your right to opt out as described below
- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our rights
Marketing Communications
You may opt out of promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in every such message, or by emailing us at support@bee2beeapps.com. We will honor your request promptly. Opting out of promotional communications will not affect service-related messages, such as security notices, billing notices, or important updates about your use of the App.
Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information to the following categories of recipients:
- Analytics providers, including Google Analytics, which help us understand how the App is used so that we can improve it
- Hosting, infrastructure, communications, and other service providers that process information on our behalf and under our instructions
- Shopify, as the platform through which the App is provided
- Law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties, where required by law, in response to a valid legal request, or where necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety, or those of others
- A successor or acquirer, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business
International Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored in the United States and Canada, where our servers and Shopify’s operations are located. These jurisdictions may have data protection laws that differ from those of your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for transfers of personal information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, such as standard contractual clauses.
Legal Bases for Processing
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal information because it is necessary to perform our agreement with you, because we have a legitimate interest in operating and improving our business (which is not overridden by your rights), because we are legally obliged to do so, or, where applicable, because you have given your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to your personal information:
- To access the personal information we hold about you
- To have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected
- To have your information deleted
- To restrict or object to certain processing
- To withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- To not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights
- To lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland have these rights under the GDPR and equivalent laws. Residents of California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. These rights are subject to the limits set by applicable law. For example, we may be unable to delete or restrict information that is necessary to provide the App to you while it remains installed, in which case the way to have it deleted is to uninstall the App. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@bee2beeapps.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
Data Retention
We retain your store details and order data for as long as the App remains installed on your store. Following uninstallation, we will permanently delete or anonymize all personal information associated with your store within the period required by Shopify and applicable law. While the App remains installed, we need to retain your store URL and email address in order to provide the service and to contact you about important matters, such as service interruptions, security incidents, and fixes. You may ask us at any time to remove your name, in which case we will address communications to you without it.
We may retain a limited set of billing and financial records for as long as necessary to satisfy our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
The App is intended for merchants and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or to meet legal and regulatory requirements. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above and, where the changes are material, notify you by email or through the App.
